Bed bug treatment preparation checklist
Good preparation helps the treatment reach the places bed bugs hide. Your technician's instructions for your booking come first; this is the general list.
Before the visit
- Strip the beds and bag the bedding. Wash and dry it on high heat, then keep it in sealed bags until after treatment.
- Reduce clutter around beds and couches so the technician can reach edges and seams.
- Empty the bedside tables and the lowest drawers near the bed.
- Pull furniture a little away from the walls.
What not to do
- Do not move items between rooms. It can spread bed bugs.
- Do not use store-bought sprays or foggers before the visit.
- Do not throw out furniture unless the technician advises it.
After treatment
- Follow the technician's instructions on when to re-enter treated rooms and when to put bedding back.
- Vacuum regularly and empty the vacuum into a sealed bag.
- Keep mattress and box spring encasements on if you use them.
- Tell us if you see live bugs again: a follow-up visit and the guarantee are part of the service.
